I studied piano and voice for many years, eventually deciding to major in voice for my Bachelors degree. I spent 12 years working full-time in churches as a music minister. I realized that my major love was teaching voice, so I returned to Auburn University to complete my music education degrees. I had the wonderful opportunity to teach voice at the Auburn University music department for six years while working on my final degrees. I've also taught many wonderful private students, some of whom have gone on to major in music and to have professional careers in music. My major concern is teaching the student to take care of the voice and to prevent vocal damage from incorrect use and overuse of the voice.
