Professor Nick Russo (guitar, banjo, mandolin, ukulele, electric bass, drums, composition)

-With over 20 years teaching experience, Nick is patient with both children & adults. He has a creative, unique pedagogy emphasizing hearing through singing, ear-training & natural, organic listening. Nick instills healthy absorption of music while students have a good time with music as well as reading & internalizing with focus on rhythm and time.

-Currently, Nick Russo is adjunct professor at Essex College, (MUS 109) and as been on staff via Kupferberg Center at Queens College as a clinician for the Jazz Project for over 10 years. Nick is on staff @ Great Neck Music Conservatory & teaches in Forest Hills.

-Performs at Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, Iridium, Bluenote, Birdland, The U.N., IAJE, Cape Cod Jazz Festival, NJPAC, Sweet Rhythm, Smalls, Zinc Bar, Smoke Jazz Club, Boom; internationally in Japan, Spain, Russia, Brasil, St. Kitts, Canada & U.S.

-Toured/worked as sideman w/Jimmy McGriff, Teddy Charles, Sonny Dallas, Victor Jones, Vince Giordano & The Night Hawks, Miles Griffith, David Pleasant, Kim Clarke, Jim Nolet & others.

-Appears in the new Sam Mendes Film & plays on soundtrack for King George.

-Played guitar and/or banjo on "Jew Grows in Brooklyn," "Take Me Along," "The Big Apple Circus" as well as many shows.

-Author of Metallica Legendary Licks series, vol. 1 & 2) (Cherry Lane Music/Hal Leonard).

-Editor of GRP arpeggios & chords (Cherry Lane Music/Hal Leonard).
