Staff Judge for Chinese Fine Arts Society's Competition in Honor of Confucious for past 8 years.

Her education began w/ William Browning, Carl Freidberg’s premiere student, pupil of Clara Schumann & Brahms. His colleague, George Perlman, was Ms. Quinn’s first major violin teacher. Quinn spent most her childhood in a practice room. At 17, was awarded the Merit Scholarship to Eastman School of Music, accepted as both piano/ violin performance major. Following Eastman, studied with Felix Galimir- Juilliard School & Gerardo Ribeiro- Northwestern University, & trained in master classes with Itzhak Perlman, Arnold Steinhardt, Malcolm Frager & others. Ms. Quinn has recorded/ interviewed in New York on WBAI radio.

Her music career highlights include a Carnegie Hall appearance with the St. Cecilia Choir, meeting the Dalai Lama on his 59th birthday, performing for fundraisers for the Tibetan cause & recording a solo violin/vocal album inside Egypt's Great Pyramid.
Ms. Quinn places high emphasis on reading music, and technique, and feels that to truly understand music, one needs to work and experience all the ingredients of performance. When her students become fluent reading music, she quickly moves them to play the pieces she feels speak to their heart, so they may emotionally connect to their practice work. She covers theory, ear training, and improvisation in her Studio, complete with 2 pianos, an organ, mirrors, many teaching props, and DVD excerpts she uses in her soirees.
Stephanie offers an 'open studio'. Tuition includes auditing other students' lessons, as well as notices to sit in on pro- orchestra rehearsals, invites to hear her own concerts and professional chamber music rehearsals. (Students have the option to have a 'closed' lesson, no auditing guests.)
Her gifts for capturing attention are coupled with her talents for paying attention – to the sounds and needs of communities everywhere.
