My vocal studio (currently 52 students) offers a supportive and positive environment for learning how to sing any style of music from classical to pop. I believe that singing should be a fun, uplifting and satisfying experience for singers at all stages of development. The vocal technique I embrace promotes health and longevity of the voice, for singing should never be difficult, strained or uncomfortable in any range no matter how or high or how low. I do not promote pushing or straining because the popular style of singing and the "Broadway belt" can be achieved safely and naturally with vocal production that is based on proper breath support, the sensation of tone placement and body alignment. When all these elements are called into play, the throat will not be engaged in a negative way and therefore never really felt at all while singing. Proper technique increases vocal range and one's ability to sing in tune with a natural sounding tone that has carrying power. In my studio (as should be in every vocal studio) the emphasis is on working from the inside out, which basically means working with the sensations felt in the body instead of simply from a standpoint of what it sounds like to you. Working from the inside out is a foolproof method and the key to developing healthy muscle memory that will replace detrimental habits that can contribute to vocal fatigue and other undesirable results related to vocal production.
