BA Degree in Vocal Music from San Jose Sate University. K-12 Lifetime Teaching Credential SJSU. 7 years high school teaching, 1 year junior college teaching, 34 years private piano and vocal teaching experience. Vocal Director for several community theater productions. I have appeared in several musicals and have been nominated twice for a "Shellie Award" for best actress in a musical. I am currently a CMEA adjudicator for music festivals. MENC member.
The old saying of "people who can't do- teach" could not be further from the truth. I do-do and teach! I try and perform in one musical a year, vocal direct as often as possible,CMEA adjudicator and I am in the group "Vintage" besides teaching 35 students a week.
I fit the curriculum to each student's needs and levels. I stress theory and muscianship skills for all of my students. Flash cards, theory book, ear training, rhythm dictation, interpretation, stage presence are just a few of the elements we cover in the course of a lesson.
