Janet Colburn is an internationally acclaimed pianist, recording artist and Master Teacher of Piano. She holds a Doctor of Musical Arts degree in Performing Arts, summa cum laude, from the University of Southern California, and holds Master and Bachelor of Music degrees. Among her awards are the Van Cliburn Piano Award and the prestigious Presser Foundation Grant. She is a member of Pi Kappa Lambda National Music Honorary, Alpha Lambda Delta National Scholastic Honorary, MTAC, MTNA, CAPMT, and a coach and host of CERTIFICATE OF MERIT Piano Exams in her studio. She has been listed in Who's Who in American Music and is a major contributor to the Colburn School and the Music Center. Experience amazing progress in piano with dynamic international concert pianist! Dr. Colburn's studio piano is a superb Bosendorfer Imperial 9'6" concert grand. She has worked with many prominent artists and celebrities including Sir James Galway, Sir Neville Marriner, Dustin Hoffman, Dudley Moore, Lalo Schifrin, Daniel Pollack, Macy Gray and others. Colburn students excel in CERTIFICATE OF MERIT, recitals, and competitions such as Mondavi, Spotlight Awards and Russian International,2009-2016. She holds a DMA from USC with a major in Piano Performance and minors in Music Theory, Music History and Philosophy/Aesthetics. Her teachers include the legendary pianist Ozan Marsh, a pupil of Rachmaninoff, Horowitz and Emil Sauer, who studied with Liszt. She has taught at USC, UCLA, Colburn School, Cal.State Universities and Kamehameha Schools. She is a skilled pianist for film/TV and appeared in the NBC film, "Nutcrackers". She is Founder and President of Mozart & Company and Magic of Mozart concert series in Los Angeles and on the Board of SOLA International LA and Vienna.
