Bhavani Kotha performs and teaches oboe in Los Angeles, California. She is co-principal oboist in the Young Artists Symphony Orchestra, and plays in the USC Thornton Symphony, USC Thornton Wind Ensemble, and USC Concerto Chamber Orchestra.

Originally from the Seattle area, she has performed extensively on oboe and English horn with the Seattle Festival Orchestra, Bainbridge Symphony Orchestra, Seattle Metropolitan Chamber Orchestra, Philharmonia Northwest, Puget Sound Symphony Orchestra, University of Washington Symphony Orchestra, and Seattle Youth Symphony Orchestra.

​Bhavani was one of nine finalists from around the world at the 2016 Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra Academy oboe audition. She was also a finalist at the Yakima Symphony Orchestra 2nd Oboe/English horn audition.

Bhavani has received numerous awards from competitions for her solo playing. She was awarded second prize in the International Enkor Music Competition. At the Performing Arts Festival of the Eastside, she won first place in both the woodwind solo and woodwind concerto categories. In addition, she was a finalist in several concerto competitions.

She has participated the Sarasota Music Festival, Vancouver Symphony Orchestral Institute at Whistler, Marrowstone Music Festival, and Eastern Music Festival.

Bhavani holds a Bachelors' Degree from the University of Washington, and is currently pursuing her Master of Music Degree at the University of Southern California Thornton School of Music.
